Little Girl Hair Styling Tip #1

I thought I would start sharing a few tricks I have uncovered over the last 3 1/2 years with my daughter. For reference Abby's hair is about 2 inches above her waist when straight, but she has curly hair so it sits a few inches below her shoulders.
You NEED to go get Scunci Polybands (I think Goody may make them, too). These are tiny elastics a little bit bigger than the diameter of my finger. They hold the smallest amount of hair and they do not hurt when removed. They come in a big pack of assorted colors and they are around $3. I have bought them at Wal-Mart and at CVS. I have used these for years - I started using them with my dog (Shih Tzu) when I would put his hair in a little top knot. These aren't so tiny that you can't handle them, though.  I do double them up for the big ponytails now, but I didn't when she was smaller. Also know, these are disposable one-time use type of elastics.
I hope this helps many more little girls get "pigs" as my daughter use to call them. Now she protests against pigs, "One ponytail only mommy." I thought I had a few more years of having things my way!

Productive Weekend!

What a productive weekend I had!  I am so excited that I have completed the work for the online store and am now trying to decide on an opening date.  I had originally targeted April 1st, but I'm thinking that will change.  The first products that will be offered on the website are the corkers and pony-o's, all styles.  I will slowly add to the them as my inventory allows.

I am preparing for another weekend in Canton.  It is my 9th month and I love every minute of it!  Well, except for tearing the display down on Sundays, which takes about an hour.  So, other than that it is a lot of fun.  I was hoping to have weather like today, but it looks like we'll be freezing again this month.  Oh well, it is sooooo much better than sweating all weekend.

As for new items, I've got a lot of great stuff ordered that should arrive in the next few weeks.  This is the start of my BASICS line.  It will be the second addition to the store.  The BASICS are going to be targeted for my wholesale customers. They will be sold in increments of 4 and intended for resale.  Now, that doesn't mean you and a friend can't team up and place a joint order. More details will be available soon.

BIG news coming soon!

It's hard to believe I started Polkadot Posies one year ago today. Many of you may not know that my initial focus was customized rubber stamps, mainly return address types. I loved doing those. So much fun! Since then, the bows have taken over and I only make a few stamps a month now for friends. The anniversary of the bow business is in March.

To celebrate I've got a great lineup of announcements and giveaways planned. In the meantime I leave you with a hint: "Don't be fooled, the online store is real!"

Happenings ....

I have added a local show to my lineup.  It's out in Mansfield, which is only a few minutes from my house.  I figured this would be another opportunity to meet some of y'all.  I continue to get requests for more opportunities to buy my products, so hopefully this will be another stop on the way.  The online store is on the horizon, just not yet.  I have lots of experience with online business, I just want to perfect this methodology a little more before I go down that route again.  Lastly, I'll have some samples of new products by the end of the week.  I'm super excited to get them.  Great things in store for Polkadot Posies.  Stay tuned!

Twitter and Giveaway!

So, I've started a twitter page for Polkadot Posies. One must follow the technology evolution, right, or be left behind!  I will release exclusive deals and steals via twitter, so be sure to check it out. Plus, you can have a say in our product development!
 
Now for the giveaway I promised at Christmas and never followed through with. This is what is up for grabs, four corkers.

It Fits!

The entire booth fits in the van. The hard part is loading it. It's like a huge puzzle, takes 45 minutes to put together but less than 15 to get it out.
