Christmastime...

So hard to believe that 2009 is about to come to an end.  It has gone by so fast.  I've watching my 2 kids get bigger.  My three year old now talks in complete sentences, uses big words, and argues with me.  My 15 month old is now throwing tantrums, thinking about walking (one day), and eating more than the 3 year old.  My stamp business started in January and quickly took second chair to bows and now it no longer exists, Polkadot Posies is all about bows. 

I am thankful for all that I have been blessed with this year.  My kids health, prosperity of bows, and a loving husband.  My life really cannot be more complete.  I am so happy with where I am and look so forward to the future.

What's coming up - Canton is just over a week away.  We will now have two spaces, so no more cramming into our little booth.  I am looking forward to the extra space, but will sadly miss my friend Carrie at Whimsies & Wonders.  She was so much fun to chat with all weekend.  We have a great new shipment of corkers that arrived last week.  They are so much fun!!  Plus, we have plenty of everything else (hats, bows, clippies).  Also, I have a big giveaway that will be starting Christmas day, so stay tuned for it.  You won't want to miss it.

My biggest helper!

Every day last week she was my biggest helper, asking every day if she could go to my "bow work" as we call it in this house.  She was up at the store every night AND with me all day on Saturday.  But what she doesn't know, this is really a great learning experience for her.  She is in charge of matching and organizing the colors.  She sorts and separates all night long and loves it!  I tell you, she has her colors, sizes, and styles down!  Plus, she's in charge of stickers .. the colored pricing dots.

Complete!

Thank goodness!  The store is complete!!  Yippie!  It has been quite a bit more work than I thought.  I mean, come on.  I do this every month, it shouldn't be an issue.  Thanks to my wonderful family, it looks great!

My cousin, Jessica and her husband Chris, along with my Aunt Susan came by and did all the vinyl work.  They put up a zebra border underline with pink polka dots.  They did my logo across my back wall.  They also did the vinyl lettering on my door and window.  It looks wonderful!!  Beyond all expectations! 

Now on to mom.  She has been up there with me every night this week getting everything prepared.  She also bought me a zebra rug for the store.  I don't think we'll receive it in time for Saturday, but it's on its way!

Shout out

This shout out goes to my mom who stayed up way too late carding and pricing bows. And, who is camping out with me tonight so we can spend every last minute making sure my booth is perfect. Whom I've never even asked for help and shows up just because she knows I need her and expects nor would accept anything in return. I love you!!

What will a new bed do?

Today my little girl got a real bed. She has been sleeping in a toddler bed. However, over the last couple of months she has slept more in our bed than hers. In the middle of the night she gets into my bed. It doesn't even wake me up. I will wake up to the alarm with a curled up little girl at the foot of my bed.

How do you experienced moms teach them to stay in bed? We went through a phase of her not wanting to go to bed. In response to that I let her stay up 30 minutes later and we quit having those incidents. We used to kiddie gate the hallway, but she can pull the gate down so we stopped.

Now about today - we moved her to a big bed and I mean BIG. The little girl has a queen all to herself. It's pretty cute looking at her in it, but I'm hoping this might change her nightly routine.

11 Months and counting

My baby boy turned 11 months old on Friday.  Where has the time gone?  It has flown by, especially the time since returning to work.  Here is what my little boy has been up to:

• He can now walk across the room behind his push truck.
• Has one tooth on top and one on bottom for a grand total of two teeth.
• Will eat anything you put in front of him, except grapefruit.  He has been on table food since 9 months.
• Babbles non-stop.  I love listening to it on my way to work in the mornings.  It really keeps me going and reinforces my reason for continuing to work.
• Take four 7 ounce bottles a day.
• Goes to bed at 7pm and gets up at 5:30 (this is our routine).  Sometimes, he will sleep a little later.
• Take 2 naps a day at home, but most likely doesn't sleep at daycare.
• Weighs about 25 pounds
• Wears size 2T clothes and a size 5 diaper.
• Favorite toy are Tonka trucks my mom got him for Christmas. We just opened them up last week.  However, I'm glad there are 5 of them because Abby likes them too!
• His favorite people besides mom and dad are Abby and his teacher Ms. Venus.

I'll update more about our weekend tonight.  We've had fun - and it's not over yet!

I took Abby to Hawaiian Falls for the second time today. She sure does take after me! I'm not sure who has more fun!

Just Andrew and I are up right now. Abby has inherited her father's sleeping habits. But isn't this little boy a doll?

My little girl ..

Isn't so little anymore.  It's amazing how time has flown.  She will be turning 3 in September.  Reviewing the pictures I took today, I'm beginning to see her as a little girl now, not quite a baby!  She is so smart and helpful.  I love the person she is becoming.  She has so much spunk and is definitely a leader.  She may be small, but she will let anyone know who the boss is.  Her favorites:
- anything with Mickey Mouse.  She has converted from Elmo to Micky/Minnie.  We don't allow her to watch TV except one program on Saturday mornings.  We will let her watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on disney.  Other than that, she sees no TV. 
- She loves to help with anything that I'm doing...dishes, folding laundry, preparing bows, cooking
- Adores her baby brother.  Loves it now that he is talking.  She thinks every little babble is directly to her.
- Favorite foods are mandarin oranges, green beans, and yogurt.  We eat each of them on a daily basis
- She has such a bond with her teacher.  Mrs. Rickel has been the best possible teacher for her.  Her loving and patient nature is exactly what Abby needs.  I don't know how I'm going to explain to her when school starts that she won't get to see Rickel. 
- Her favorite color is green.
- She is exactly 36 inches tall, which made her eligible to ride most of the slides at Hawaiian Falls last weekend.  She loved everything about it.  I can't wait to take her to Six Flags!!
